Lycra is an essential fabric used in all CHRISANNE CLOVER’S Couture dancewear.
It is a comfortable fabric with a snug fit making it a perfect base fabric for skin tight garments.
The benefit of lycra is its significant strength and elasticity with its ability to return to the original shape after stretching and faster drying than ordinary fabrics.
Our Sponsored Gold dancer Monica Nigro wowed audiences at the UK Open Championships this January with her Purple Rain Couture, dazzling many many more at the Asian Tour this March, with the Black dress being one of our most liked Couture dresses and videos on our Instagram page. Both magnificent Couture dresses feature lycra down the right side of the garment with beautiful crystallization artwork on cappuccino stretch net down the left side of the dress. Truly unique and beautiful Couture full of style and class that really dazzled like no other on the dance floor.
Which one is your favourite?
'I love my black dress so much and on the dance floor under the lights it looks absolutely stunning! Both dresses are gorgeous and both have different wow factors but I have had the most likes and comments with the Black dress. In fact I did a voting poll on which dress my followers preferred and it seems the black dress won hands down. It is amazing how much the choice of colour can really create such different looks'

WHY IS LYCRA SUCH AN IMPORTANT FABRIC FOR MAKING COUTURE DRESSES?
It provides the base for almost all dresses, gives great structure and fantastic shape
WHAT ARE THE FEATURES OF LYCRA THAT MAKES IT SUCH A POPULAR FABRIC TO USE?
We have an extensive colour range across both matt and lustre, it has multi uses and can be used for just the inner leotard, to build in extra support panels or as the final top body layer.
It can be used on all dresses right from juvenile upwards.
DO YOU HAVE A PREFERENCE TO MATT LYCRA OR LUSTRE LYCRA? IF SO WHY?
At the moment in design they are using a lot of matt lycra because of the dress styles and looks they are creating, but lustre also has its place and works incredibly well too.
