This stunning plum ombre Ballroom gown uses 22 meters of shaded satin chiffon shading plum to cream. It elegantly drapes over buttercream crystal organza underskirts that are finished with crinoline. The bodice is adorned with Swarovski crystals in hues including fuchsia shimmer, amethyst, golden shadow, and rose gold. Each arm is embellished with plum ostrich feather boas, creating dramatic floats oozing luxury and sophistication.
The shading can be used in either direction, and depending on your design, you might want to use more of one colour than the other. The fabric is 112cm wide, and the shading covers the entire width of the fabric. Shorter designs, like ice skating skirts, may require careful consideration regarding how the skirt will be shaded, as the full shade of the fabric might not be fully realized.
The dress featured employs this shading on godets, but panelled and flared skirt pieces will also work effectively. Pattern placement will need to be taken into account if you want the shade to be consistent; you may need to acquire more fabric to ensure the patterns are placed the same way. However, for an even more dramatic effect, alternating your pattern pieces will create a standout finish! This fabric is also perfect for floats, adding dimension to a couture piece that may be of one colour, imparting a touch of luxury.
