'LBD Starlight was born out of the desire to create a collection that is not first and foremost a practice wear range. It's more customisable than ever before, and with even more styles to choose from there's a dress for every occasion to take you from the dance floor, to parties and beyond.'
Can you tell me who designed what dress?
While we all had a hand in designing this collection, the finished product is a blend of multiple ideas to make sure we get the best possible product. So while Joseph’s original concepts inspired the “Scarlett Dress” and mine inspired the “Katrina dress”, in the end each piece has a collaboration of ideas behind it from the design and production team.
What was your design brief for this collection?
The brief was really all centred around the new starlight fabric and showcasing it as best as possible. We wanted to create a collection that was luxurious and feminine to compliment the soft shine and beautiful effect you get with this new fabric.
What were your design inspirations in the dresses you created?
We always take a lot of inspiration from current trends and catwalk fashion. For us it is about blending these new and exciting ideas with something that is practical and compliments our dance customers.
Do you have a favourite dress from the collection?
I really like the Taya Dress as I think it is great for Latin. Its flirty and feminine while still getting extra movement from the frill detail.
Kushy really likes the Layla and Selena dresses for their versatility and strong use of the starlight fabric.
Joseph’s favourite is the Scarlett dress with the unique sleeves and panelling.
Can you tell me your thoughts on the look of the overall collection?
We love the new collection. The overall looks is so cohesive and tells a very elegant and seductive story. We think it is one of our best collections yet. It has so much versatility, these dresses are perfect for dancing but have been elevated to a new level that extends seamlessly into evening wear with our new starlight fabric.

'My personal favourite in the Ballroom dresses is this Alia Dress. The split in the skirt is very unique for Ballroom wear and is balanced beautifully with the more covered upper part - still giving the appearance of sophistication and class. As with all our long LBD Starlight dresses, the skirts are created with fantastic volume, however Gloriana benefits from three additional godet inserts which give you that extra swing and movement.
