While many clients visit us in person, our made-to-measure service is designed to work seamlessly wherever you are in the world. Antonia, based in the USA, has now commissioned two bespoke gowns with Chrisanne Clover, collaborating closely with our couture team through video calls, email and phone consultations before eventually meeting the team in person at the Blackpool Dance Festival.
Her experience demonstrates how distance is no barrier to creating a truly personalised couture gown.
A Seamless Couture Experience Across Continents
Like many dancers considering a remote couture service, Antonia initially had concerns about whether it would be possible to create the dress she envisioned while working with a designer based in another country.
However, with our structured design process, the experience quickly became both enjoyable and collaborative.
The journey began with a FaceTime consultation, allowing Antonia to meet the team and share her initial ideas and inspirations. Through ongoing conversations via phone and email, design concepts were refined and developed. Detailed colour illustrations, fabric selections, stoning layouts and design specifications helped bring the vision to life, ensuring Antonia felt involved at every stage of the process.
"Even though I worked with Chrisanne Clover remotely, I felt very involved in the dress design process. The team carefully listened to my design preferences and really captured my design aesthetic. Working remotely was not a factor at all in the design process."
Bringing a Vision to Life
For her latest gown, Antonia wanted to revisit one of her favourite features from a previous Chrisanne Clover dress: beautiful 3D flower petals.
‘I wanted to use this design element again, but asked the team to design these petals in a new and creative way. The team designed petals in shimmery and matte chiffon fabrics and the result was ethereal and stunning.’
Another key request was the inclusion of feather boas attached to the wrists, suspended from embellished strands. What began as a design idea evolved into something even more striking during the creative process.
‘Chrisanne Clover thought about my request regarding the feather boas and took the design to a whole new level. They added beautiful floaters on the inside of the wrists to give the feather boas greater presence and beautifully balance the dress. They also used a darker contrast colour on the crystallized strings for the feather boas and this detail created a beautiful accent.’
Antonia was also inspired by our recommendation to incorporate white underskirts beneath the blue paradise-coloured gown. This subtle addition highlighted the intricate embellished necklace design and brought perfect balance to the finished look.

The Finished Gown
Antonia’s stunning Blue Paradise gown was created using Chrisanne Clover fabrics including stretch net, metallic lycra, satin chiffon, crystal organza and luxurious ostrich feather boas. The gown was embellished with Swarovski® crystals in Electric Blue, Royal Blue Delite, Crystal and Aqua, creating exceptional sparkle under the ballroom lights.
