International Dance Festival 2026: Championship Style, Unforgettable Performances and Couture Inspiration

Every year, the International Dance Festival brings together some of the world's finest dancers, showcasing not only exceptional artistry and athleticism but also the very best in Ballroom fashion. This year's spectacular finale at the Royal Albert Hall was no exception, delivering memorable performances, emotional moments, and an array of breathtaking couture creations that captivated audiences throughout the competition.

From championship-winning gowns worn by Irina Cherepanova to a heartfelt farewell performance from Anna and Eric, the event highlighted how costume design enhances storytelling and performance on the ballroom floor.

A Championship Performance from Irina Cherepanova

Professional Ballroom Champion Irina Cherepanova delivered a remarkable performance throughout the competition, culminating in a title-winning appearance at the final. Her couture wardrobe reflected both elegance and technical craftsmanship, combining luxurious fabrics, intricate embellishment, and dynamic movement.

BDD853PP: The Winning Gown

Created for Irina Cherepanova, BDD853PP was worn during the final rounds of the competition. Crafted from gold-on-white Moonlight Georgette, the design featured expert ruching and draping over a cappuccino-toned corset bodice, creating a beautifully sculpted silhouette. The gown was adorned with Swarovski® crystals and pearls, while soft asymmetrical floats cascaded from the bodice and crystal-encrusted armbands, creating dramatic movement with every step.

The result was a gown that perfectly balanced romance, glamour, and competitive performance, making it a fitting choice for a championship-winning appearance.

BDD854PP: Cappuccino Lace Elegance

Earlier in the event, Irina Cherepanova wore BDD854PP, an elegant Ballroom gown crafted from Florentina Stretch Lace in a rich cappuccino tone. The high neckline, dramatic lace sleeves, and beautifully panelled skirt created fluid movement across the floor, while a contemporary keyhole back added a modern finish.

Hand-embellished with Swarovski® crystals in warm amber and gold tones, the design was further enhanced with luxurious ostrich feather fringe along the sleeves and hemline. Layers of satin chiffon and organza added fullness and drama, creating a striking ballroom silhouette.

Sakina's Elegant Ballroom Style

This year's event also showcased the talent of sponsored Gold dancer Sakina, whose competition wardrobe demonstrated two distinctly different interpretations of Ballroom glamour.

BDD849PP: Timeless White Sophistication

Designed in luxurious white stretch satin, BDD849PP combined classic elegance with modern design elements. The asymmetrically ruched bodice enhanced the body's natural lines, while Swarovski® crystals and white pearl stones added brilliance beneath the ballroom lights.

Flowing pearl chiffon skirts layered over a voluminous organza underskirt created effortless movement, resulting in a gown that embodied traditional Ballroom elegance while maintaining a contemporary aesthetic.

BDD818PP: Romantic Sugar Pink

For earlier rounds of the competition, Sakina appeared in BDD818PP, an exquisite Sugar Pink Ballroom gown that blended soft femininity with couture glamour. Matching ostrich feather fringe adorned the sweeping floats and skirt, adding texture, movement, and visual impact across the floor.

Intricate Swarovski® crystal and pearl embellishment completed the design, creating a luminous effect that came alive with every movement. The combination of luxurious fabrics, elegant detailing, and expert craftsmanship made the gown a standout look throughout the event.

BDD840PP: Bold Drama from Vilhelmina

Another unforgettable couture moment came from Vilhelmina, who wore BDD840PP, a vibrant red Ballroom gown designed to command attention.

The sweetheart neckline and off-the-shoulder bodice were embellished with Swarovski® crystals in Light Siam, Indian Siam, and Scarlet tones, creating exceptional sparkle and depth. Flowing georgette layers, wire-edged frills, and organza underskirts added movement and volume, while dramatic three-dimensional sleeve detailing gave the design a distinctive couture finish.

A Heartfelt Farewell for Anna and Eric

One of the most emotional moments of the festival came as Anna and Eric took to the floor for their final competitive performance before retirement. Dancing their farewell spotlight dance in the Royal Albert Hall, the couple celebrated a remarkable competitive career that began in the very same venue.

BDD668PP: Timeless White Elegance

For this special occasion, Anna wore BDD668PP, a sophisticated white Ballroom gown that perfectly reflected the significance of the moment. The design featured a halter neckline crafted from stretch net over a fitted lycra bodice, embellished with Swarovski® crystals and pearl tones that delivered exceptional brilliance under the lights.

Flowing satin chiffon godets, organza underskirts, and soft georgette floats created graceful movement throughout the performance, ensuring a memorable final appearance on the competition floor.

‘Last night we take our final bow at The International Dance Festival. It is incredibly special to do so in the Royal Albert Hall – the very place where our first major competition and our shared dancing dream began…Our competitive career has bought us profound fulfilment, and we look forward to the next chapter of our lives with open hearts. To our families, teachers, friends, and sponsors: thank you for making our dreams possible’ Eric and Anna
